05 - Squarespace’s SEO gets you found by your ideal clients
SEO (search engine optimization) may sound intimidating but it’s actually quite easy. It’s just a series of steps you take to help your site get discovered by search engines. Once you get used to doing the steps, it becomes second nature.
So think of SEO as an SOP for ranking in Google. That’s really all it is. 😊
Squarespace makes ranking in search much easier by including a lot of built-in SEO functionality. This means you don’t need to worry about the more technical side of SEO. When my website was only 2 weeks old, my blog post hit page 2 of Google in about 2 weeks - and it’s still on Page 1 of Google today even though I haven’t posted to that website in over two years
I started ranking on page one of Google with different blog posts within a few months
In 12 months, I was at 33,000 page views per month

06 - Squarespace has excellent site security so don’t have to do any updates or maintenance. Zero. Nada.
This is another area where Squarespace really shines.

Squarespace is a “closed” system, developed by an internal development team. This means the code isn’t accessible to the public which makes it much more difficult for hackers to find security vulnerabilities and exploit them.
Another benefit is Squarespace comes with automatic SSL certificates - a data file providing an encrypted connection.
Fun fact: If you don’t have an SSL certificate, Google will penalize your site for it.
This is a major benefit (and a stark contrast) to WordPress or WordPress-backed platforms like Showit where you have to regularly do updates to keep your website secure from hackers (or pay someone else to do it) and get your own SSL certificates.
In fact, I know many WordPress users who recommend updating and backing up their sites every. single. day. Many of them also keep developers on retainer to stay on top of security updates.
